Unable to start listener

After install I get a message saying "Unable to start SMB(WinPop) listener on xxx. Messages for xxx can't be received", where xxx = local development desktop?

You have to stop the standard Messaging Service, which may be running on your computer or close other software that sends or receives messages using the NetBIOS protocol because Vypress Messenger also uses standard NetBIOS and SMB protocols and same NetBIOS names to send and receive messages. You can also disable SMB/Winpopup protocol in Vypress Messenger; click to clear the check box “SMB/Winpopup” in the “Network” tab of the “Preferences” dialog.
